Slough Police are launching a murder investigation after a pensioner dies in an attack

Slough Police have launched an investigation into the murder of a pensioner who was attacked earlier this week.

The victim, an 82-year-old man from Slough, died this morning after being assaulted on Stoke Road on Tuesday (September 24).

Police previously said his condition was “critical” in hospital.

Two teenage boys from Slough, aged 15 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident. The couple was released on bail.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the attack to contact them.

Detective Inspector Nick Hind, of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Squad, said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“We believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no major risk to the public.

“If you witnessed the incident, have information about what happened or may have CCTV or dashcam footage that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or make a report via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting the number reference 43240460762.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.”

The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Formal identification has not yet taken place.
