Dundee FC have revealed that Mo Sylla remains under medical care following a disturbing incident in which he collapsed in the dressing room after the first half of Saturday’s match against Aberdeen.

The 30-year-old midfielder suffered a worrying setback at half-time after playing the first half of the match and was quickly taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

In a statement on Sunday, the club confirmed: “The club would like to provide a brief update on Mo Sylla’s condition after Mo became unwell in the Dundee dressing room at half-time yesterday.

“Mom was quickly attended to by the club’s medical team and paramedics. “He was transferred to Ninewells Hospital Emergency Department and by this stage he was operational and talking to those around him.”

The statement added: “Following initial assessment he was admitted for further assessment and is currently at Ninewells Hospital. The club will provide further updates in due course.”

Dundee confirmed their continued support for their player.

Reflecting on the disturbing developments, manager Tony Docherty said: “He is reacting at the moment. It wasn’t nice to see. Mo changed during the break.

“The medics were involved and we had to get the players out of there. It’s ready now. He’s in hospital now. We just have to evaluate it and see how he feels.”
