PROVIDENCE – Four young Rhode Island men have been indicted in an indictment accusing them of stealing about 120 luxury vehicles worth about $5 million from 12 dealers in other states last year.

The four conspirators, including two Providence men, a Cranston man and a North Providence man, targeted car and motorcycle dealerships in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Cunha said in a news release.

The men took a Porsche, a Mercedes, a BMW, a Rolls-Royce, a Bentley, a Land Rover and other vehicles in a plot that was being investigated by the FBI with help from numerous local police departments, federal prosecutors say.

Law enforcement recovered 41 stolen vehicles and 11 dirt bikes, securing most of the vehicles in Rhode Island or Massachusetts, they said.
