Israel kills senior Hezbollah leader Nabil Kaouk in escalating airstrikes on Lebanon

Israel continues its intensified air campaign against Hezbollah, announcing the death of senior commander Nabil Kaouk following Friday’s strike that killed the group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah. The Israeli military has confirmed attacks on dozens of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, including rocket launch sites, weapons depots and other terrorist infrastructure.

These recent attacks are part of Israel’s ongoing efforts to destroy Hezbollah’s capabilities as the conflict with Iran-backed forces escalates.

In response, Hezbollah continued to fire missiles towards Israel, and the Israeli Navy intercepted a missile fired from the Red Sea and several others landed in open areas. The deaths of Nasrallah and Kaouk represent a significant blow to Hezbollah and Iran’s influence in the region.

Lebanese authorities say more than 1,000 people have been killed and more than 6,000 injured in Israeli attacks over the past two weeks. The humanitarian crisis is deepening, with approximately one million Lebanese displaced and many seeking refuge in Beirut.
