‘Prabhas is brilliant’: Arshad Warsi BREAKS silence on trolls who attacked him, praises Kalki Star

Arshad Warsi has finally reacted to the chaos by calling Prabhas Kalka’s character in 2898 a “joker”. A few weeks ago, Arshad had confessed that he didn’t like Kalki 2898 AD The actor praised Amitabh Bachchan’s performance in the film but felt that Prabhas’ character was reduced to a joker. The statement sparked a massive reaction from many people, including the film’s director Nag Ashwin. Arshad was also brutally trolled by Prabhas’ fans.

During IIFA 2024, Arshad talked about the harsh reaction he faced and said that people misinterpreted his statement. Talking to ANI, Arshad said, “Everyone has their own point of view and people like to interpret noise. I was talking about character, not person. He (Prabhas) is a brilliant actor who has proven his worth many times and we know that. And when we give a bad character to a good actor, it breaks the audience’s heart.”

Arshad was asked to name a bad movie he recently watched during a podcast with Samdish Bhatia. Arshad called Kalki the year 2898 and explained, “Prabhas, I am really sad why he… acted like a joker. Why? I want to see Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata (“What do you think? I never understand why they do such things”).

What did Nag Ashwin say?

Director Nag Ashwin felt that Arshad could have used better words to express his thoughts. However, he added that he did not take Arshad’s words to heart. “Arshad saab (sir) should have chosen his words better… but no problem… sending Buji toys for his children… I will work hard so I’m tweeting… that Prabhas was the best ever on K2,” he said on X.

Speaking exclusively to News18 Showsha, Kalki 2898 AD co-producer Swapna Dutt, who is also Nagi’s sister-in-law, said, “I loved the way Nagi reacted to it. We stayed calm because the film itself proved what it is. Prabhas, as always, did a fantastic job in this film. We have to give it to the generosity of Nag Ashwin and Prabhas. They’re just so easy about this stuff.

Meanwhile, Prabhas will be returning the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
