Girl, 2, hospitalized after Chicago Lawn shooting: police

CHICAGO – According to Chicago police, a shooting at a home in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood sent a 2-year-old girl to the hospital.

The incident occurred Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at 2500 W. 61st Street.

According to Chicago police, the child was shot in the right leg by an “unknown assailant” inside the home. No further details about the shooting have been released.

Police said the girl was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital and was in fair condition.

A weapon was found at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
