The joint force arrested, along with an associate, the mastermind behind the murder of Army officer Lt. Tanzim Sarwar using locally made weapons from Chakaria in Cox’s Bazar.

Those arrested have been identified as Nasir Uddin (38) and Enamul Haque (50), confirmed senior deputy director (law and media) of RAB-15 in Cox’s Bazar and additional superintendent of police Abul Kalam Chowdhury.

According to RAB, a total of nine people have been arrested so far, including the main accused in the Md Babula murder case.

“Police, RAB personnel and Army are conducting joint operations to nab the accused in the Tanzim murder case. “After receiving information that some of the accused were staying in Kahariyaghona area of ​​Chakaria, the joint force carried out an operation there early morning on Friday.” – said Abul Kalam.

“When the joint forces reached the spot, two people tried to escape. The services chased and arrested them, and after searching them, they found two locally made pistols and three cartridges,” added Abul Kalam.

Abul Kalam also said that the arrested persons confessed to their involvement in the murder during primary interrogation.

“Among those arrested, Nasir confessed that he stabbed Tanzim in the throat and Enamul admitted that he helped Nasir,” Abul Kalam said.

The RAB director added that the detainees were handed over to the Chakaria police station.

Lieutenant Tanzim Sarwar Nirjon died after he was stabbed by robbers while conducting an operation in East Maizpara area of ​​Dulahazara in Chakaria at around 3am on Monday (September 23).

Early Wednesday (September 25), the police and the army filed two cases in this regard with the Chakaria Police Station as plaintiffs.

According to ISPR, after receiving news of the attack in Maizpara in Chakaria, members of the Chakaria military camp reached the spot within an hour.

While driving, Tanzim chased 7-8 thieves and at one point he was stabbed in the neck by them.

As Tanzim started bleeding, he was rushed to Malumghat Memorial Hospital, where the doctors on duty declared him dead.

During the drive, the combined forces detained a total of six bandits and seized two weapons, 11 bullets, a knife, a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

Tanzim, who hails from Tangail, completed his secondary education at Pabna Cadet College.

He received his commission after completing the 82nd Long Course at the Bangladesh Military Academy.
