Motorcyclist dies after head-on collision in Union County, Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A 42-year-old man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided head-on with another vehicle on Hickory Star Road in Union County.

According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, a 42-year-old Tennessee man was traveling east on Hickory Star Road near Booker Road on the afternoon of Saturday, July 20, when his 2007 Honda Shadow motorcycle lost control, crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with the front of another vehicle.

The other vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Rollback truck, was able to come to a controlled stop on the road. The driver, a 36-year-old man, was not injured. The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled stop after striking an embankment on the south side of the road.
