Chilling footage of woman being pulled from train tracks and thrown onto California highway

A horrifying video has emerged online of a woman who narrowly escaped death when a man dragged her off a Los Angeles subway train and threw her into freeway traffic.

The incident occurred on August 7 around 5:30 a.m. at the Allen subway station on the A subway line in Pasadena.

On August 12, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced that Juan Flores had been charged with attempted murder of the woman.

Gascón said Flores allegedly attacked and threw the victim onto railroad tracks and then into the carpool lane of nearby Highway 210.

She was then taken to a local hospital where she was treated for deep cuts to her face and received stitches to her head. She was later readmitted to the hospital after developing an infection and a high fever, Fox 11 reported.

“Our thoughts are with the victim and his loved ones as he begins his journey to recovery from this horrific attack,” Gascón said earlier in a press release. “No one should have to endure such cruelty, and everyone deserves to live their life without fear for their safety. We will not tolerate violence on our public transportation system and we will continue to hold those responsible fully accountable for their actions.”

Janice Hahn, Los Angeles County Councilwoman and Metro Board Chairwoman, released a statement to Fox 11 saying the board is conducting a full investigation, including determining where Metro law enforcement officers and transit security were located at the time of the attack.

“Our trains, buses and stations must be safe for our passengers, and we must continue to implement safety reforms to ensure our system gets there,” Hahn said in a statement.

She added that the council was also working on a plan to make morning commutes safer.

Flores remains in custody without bail and his trial has been adjourned until Aug. 27.

If found guilty of the charges, Flores faces a sentence of life imprisonment.
