Wall Township Police Arrest Three People From Northern New Jersey For Theft From Mailboxes In Township

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – After a months-long investigation, the Wall Township Police Department, in cooperation with the New Jersey State Police TEAMS Unit and the United States Postal Inspection Service, arrested three people on Wednesday.

The arrests follow reports of Wall Township businesses having checks stolen from mailboxes, leading to losses of more than $100,000. Search warrants were executed Wednesday in Passaic and Bloomfield, where the accused lived.

James Miller, 37, of Orchard Street in Passaic, New Jersey, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree theft, fourteen counts of third-degree forgery, four counts of fourth-degree possession of a government document, one count of third-degree using a forgery document, third-degree possession of a forgery device, and third-degree receiving stolen goods.

Kaleik Easton, 29, and Asia Harrell, 31, both of Myrtle Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey, were charged with one count of third-degree receiving stolen goods and one count of second-degree possession of marijuana.

  • Robbery and Assault Reported at Cinemark at Arundel Mills Mall

    Hanover, MD – On Wednesday at approximately 4:35 p.m. authorities responded to a report of a robbery and assault at the Cinemark movie theater in the 7000 block of Arundel Mills Mall.

    Upon arrival, officers discovered that two white males, ages 19 and 18, were involved in an altercation. One of the victims reported that her wallet had been stolen, and the other had been physically assaulted by three males. The confrontation began with a verbal altercation during a movie, with one of the victims calling the suspects racial epithets, which led to the later incidents.

    The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment. The suspects fled the scene before officers arrived.

  • 17-year-old attacked in Manhattan

    NEW YORK — Police said a 17-year-old man was assaulted in Manhattan Wednesday afternoon.

    The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in front of a home at 60 Center Drive when the victim, who was riding a bicycle, became involved in an argument with an unknown man riding a Citibike.

    Authorities say the suspect pushed the victim off his bicycle and sprayed an unidentified chemical in her face, causing her pain and discomfort.

    The suspect fled north on East Drive and the victim was treated at the scene.

    The wanted individual is described as a light-skinned male with a slim build and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black pants, black sneakers and carrying a black backpack.

    Police are asking anyone with information to contact officers as the investigation is still ongoing.

  • NYPD Crosswalk Warden Arrested on Assault Charge

    New York, NY – An off-duty New York City crosswalk officer was arrested early Wednesday morning at the 5th Precinct.

    Nilufa Begum, a 44-year-old New York City Police Department pedestrian crossing officer, was arrested on September 18, 2024, at approximately 1:27 a.m. Begum was charged with second-degree assault.

    No additional details were provided regarding the incident.
