Fatal crash in Largo under investigation

Largo, MD – The Prince George’s County Police Department Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash involving an on-duty PGPD patrol officer and 85-year-old Jeanette Benthall of Largo.

The crash happened at about 11:20 a.m. Sept. 9 at the intersection of Campus Way South and Joyceton Drive. Both drivers were taken to hospital, where Benthall died five days later from her injuries. The patrol officer has been released from hospital.

Investigators are looking into the circumstances of the collision. They are working to collect video evidence and are speaking with witnesses.

Pasadena, MD – Anne Arundel County Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash Tuesday that injured two juveniles.

At approximately 11:00 a.m., police responded to the intersection of Outing Avenue and East Shore Road where two juveniles had been struck by a white Nissan Pathfinder occupied by three males.

One of the minors was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other, who was taken to hospital by his co-worker before the police arrived, also had non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects are three men of Latino origin.

NEW YORK — A winning ticket for the Sept. 17 Take 5 Evening drawing worth $33,286 was sold in the Bronx, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Big Three Liquor, located at 3824 E Tremont Ave.

The 5-number draw takes place twice a day and prizes can be claimed within one year from the date of the draw.
