Former minister sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing 2 young children

MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) – A judge today sentenced a former Mobile County pastor to a total of 20 years in prison for sexually abusing two young children.

Kenneth Turberville was scheduled to go on trial today for sodomy, but pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of attempted sexual abuse of a minor.

Prosecutors said one victim was a family member and one was an acquaintance of his, and they said the abuse spanned five years.

Judge Vicki Davis sentenced Turberville to 10 years in prison for both charges and ordered him to serve the sentences one at a time.

Tuberville was a pastor at Clear Water Church in west Mobile.
