Route 2 westbound closed due to serious single-vehicle accident

COLCHESTER, CT (WFSB) – Westbound Route 2 is currently closed as emergency crews respond to a serious car crash reported Monday evening.

The incident occurred in front of exit 18 at approximately 8:11 p.m. A patient was reportedly found outside the vehicle.

Lifestar was called in and landed on Route 2 to assist with the situation.

Serious injuries have been reported, but authorities have no estimate for how long the road will be closed at this time.
