Person killed outside vehicle in crash on I-294

HINSDALE, sick. – A person was fatally struck by a semi-trailer while outside a disabled vehicle on Interstate 294 in Hinsdale on Wednesday morning.

According to Illinois State Police, at approximately 4:20 a.m. a person was standing in front of a disabled vehicle in the third lane of the southbound Tri-State Tollway when he was struck by a semi-truck at mile marker 25.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. No information was provided about their identities.
